Urbanspoon Takes On OpenTable in Restaurant Reservations

Summary: Urbanspoon is expanding its vision beyond restaurant reviews by offering online reservations and, for restaurants, table management. By doing so, it seeks to undercut OpenTable and others, while reaching a broader target base of restaurants. A core feature of Urbanspoon’s offering is its use of the Apple iPad instead of a dedicated computer. Note: This Advisory was revised on June 8, 2010.
