Online Ad Spending Reaches Critical Milestone

Summary: For more than 13 years, BIA/Kelsey has tracked small-business sentiment and spending patterns. During our most recent survey, Local Commerce Monitor Wave XIII, small-business owners/operators reported that their use of the Internet has exceeded that of traditional media. We view this as a critical milestone for the direction of local ad spending. If small-business decision makers are using digital options more often themselves, we expect their spending to accelerate in that direction.
